Did you know? One severe sunburn as a child, more than doubles the risk
of skin cancer later in life!
Has sunburn become the "Theme"
at the Theme Parks?
Spending a day at a theme park, or outside at any park for that matter,
can
cause sun burn on your skin, and your childrens. Have you been to Orlando
recently and noticed the bubbled over shoulders of the crowd? There are
ways
to protect from those sore blisters and burnt skin.
Many people wear less clothing in the sun to 'cool off', but unless you
are
methodical about sun block applications (at least every two hours), you
may
still burn! UV
clothing is in as an alternative (or addition) to sun
block.
Things like Solaroo
Rash Guards (shirts) are worn in place of regular shirts.
The reason? These shirts keep you cool because of the fast drying fabric
which absorbs sweat, and they and block the UV rays...but just as important,
they are very sporty looking. Believe it or not most teenagers are
requesting them because of their fashionable look! They cover newborns
through adult. Strapless is cute, sunburn is not.
When a baseball cap doesn't do it for your child, switch them to a flap
hat
like the ones found at SunFriendlyProducts.com. They look just like a
cap,
but the added fabric that covers part of the face and back of the neck
will
keep your child protected. Note there is also a strap to keep the cap's
on,
and the fabric is 98% UV blocking.
Would you sit your baby at the beach in a chair for a few hours straight?
Many babies spend hours at a time in their strollers at the theme parks,
when the sun is beating down on them as if they are parked at the beach.
Sun block is only the start. There are stroller
covers available to cut
down on the UV Rays by at least 65%, even some that are 98% blocking,
which
is great for the little siblings that have come for the ride but are too
little to...ride!
Whatever UV gear you select, keeping your family protected from the sun
will
make the theme parks much more fun!
